I've been taking rather a break from Dust testing for a while, looking forward to next release. However, I played a fair bit today, and I'm sad to report two new instances of the very heavy framerate slowdown I first reported here.
TL;DR - from start of match, screen updates less than once per second (typically once every 2-3 seconds, but sometimes over 5 seconds between screen updates) clearly rendering game unplayable. Unsurprisingly, HDD light is on steady (not even flickering) throughout this problem.
Two instances:
First Instance
- How long have you been playing DUST before this issue appeared?
Happened before I could even leave spawn area at the start of the first game after a routine reset for routine slowdown issues (i.e. the regular restart I need to do every few games as "normal" game slowdown builds up).
- Which game mode it was on (corp battle/skirmish/ambush)?
Skirmish
- Which map (as accurate as possible)?
Manu's Peak
- What is your region?
EU (South coast UK)
- Time of day when low FPS first appeared (can be exact time, including timezone)
Approx 16:55 Z/ EVE Time
- Did a restart of the game solve this issue? (try playing Skirmish a few times again after the restart to see if this issue reappears, and when)
Yes, game was playable again after restart, and although I still needed to make my usual restart of Dust every few matches to retain playability, it was several hours before it happened again...
Second Instance
- How long have you been playing DUST before this issue appeared?
Third match after "routine" restart.
- Which game mode it was on (corp battle/skirmish/ambush)?
Skirmish
- Which map (as accurate as possible)?
Ashlands
- What is your region?
EU (South Coast UK)
- Time of day when low FPS first appeared (can be exact time, including timezone)
20:50 Z/ EVE Time
- Did a restart of the game solve this issue? (try playing Skirmish a few times again after the restart to see if this issue reappears, and when)
Did not restart game again on this occasion.
Hope this helps - all the best guys.
Edit - I should really follow my own advice: Some technical details: 10Mb broadband, slim PS3, Wired Gigabit network connection, PS3 is DMZd, stock hard drive, KB/M and DS3 as controller. |
